Scouts wear uniforms as a means of identifying themselves openly with the principals to which they are committed-character development, citizenship, physical and mental fitness. Uniforms should be worn at any scouting event such as Pack, Den meetings, service projects and scout activities.

What is the Class A uniform?

The Class A uniform is composed of the official blue button-up Cub Scout shirt (or the official khaki Boy Scout shirt for Webelos), with appropriate patches and badges, blue pants (either long or short, jeans are acceptable, cub scout neckerchief and slide, cub scout belt, and cub scout hat. The Class A uniform should be worn whenever the scouts are interacting in their capacity as Cub Scouts with the general public, or whenever the occasion is considered to be formal or official. For instance, Class A uniforms are always worn at Parades, Pack meetings, fundraisers (not all however check with a leader to fins out for sure!), and Cub Scout hosted festivals and events.

What is the Class B uniform?

A Class B uniform is composed of any t-shirt or sweat shirt with a Cub Scout logo and Pack information, and the scout's choice of shorts or pants. The Class B uniform is worn when the occasion is not formal, the scouts are not interfacing with the general public representing scouting, and when the scouts are expected to engage in activities for which the full uniform would be inappropriate. For instance, Class B uniforms would be appropriate for a scout hike, camping trip, or athletic event.
