Welcome


Pack 512 of Lake Orion, MI is sponsored by Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.  Most of the pack comprise of students from Carpenter Year Round and Pine Tree Elementary Schools of the Lake Orion Community School District.  All boys from 1st Grade to 5th Grade are welcome to join the Pack.

What is the purpose of Cub Scouting?


Cub scouting, which the Boy Scouts of America offers for boys in the first through fifth grade (or who are 7 - 10 years old).  Parents, leaders, and organizations work together to achieve the 10 purposes of Cub Scouting:

  4. Sportsmanship and Fitness
  5. Family Understanding
  6. Respectful Relationships

Character development is an important part of the Scouting program.  The development of a person's character involves three major areas:  thinking, feeling, and behavior - in other words, to know, to commit, and to practice.  Cub Scouting emphasizes the relationships of the head, the heart, and the hand to 12 core values and calls them Character Connections.
