BOY SCOUT TROOP 323

Troop 323 is located in Land O'Lakes, Florida, just north of Tampa.  The Troop is a member of the Gulf Ridge Council, Allohak District.  We continue and expand upon the Scouting traditions and values that are introduced in our Pack.

Boy Scouting is a Scout-run, Scout-led organization.  This means that not only will the Scouts participate in a wide variety of events, but they will also lean how to plan, organize, and run these events.  Activities are used to achieve the aims of Scouting - citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness.  These young men will not only learn the Scout Oath and Law, but live the ideals and values behind them.

A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent.

Troop 323 Thanked by American Red Cross (Jan2015)

Living up to several points of the Boy Scout Law, Troop 323 signed dozens of holiday cards for the American Red Cross Holiday Mail for Heroes campaign in December 2014.  The program empowers people to “Give Something That Means Something” by sending a card of thanks and support to the members of the Armed Forces, veterans and their families.

We were recently thanked for our efforts by Margaret Brown, Director of the Office of Volunteers for the ARC Tampa Bay Chapter:

"Thank you for taking the time to think of our service members this past holiday season.  Your heartfelt cards were delivered to two VA hospitals as well as multiple military active duty, guard, and reserve units in the Tampa Bay Area.

Kindest Regards,

Margaret Brown"

Troop 323 thanked by Senator Mike Fasano (Apr2012)

Troop 323 Scouts have a huge impact on the Land O'Lakes community!

As part of the Boy Scouts of America's national annual Scouting for Food drive, the Scouts of Troop 323 collected over 3500 pounds of food items and donated them to the Suncoast Harvest Food Bank in Land O'Lakes.  Their efforts drew the attention of a reporter with the Tampa Bay Times and a great article was published on March 24, 2012, in the Pasco Times section.

The article must have caught the eye of Senator Mike Fasano who sent a personal letter to the Scouts of Troop 323, thanking them for their efforts to support the Food Bank:

April 6, 2012

To all the members of Boy Scout Troop 323:

Thank you for your efforts to clip coupons and help purchase food for the Suncoast Harvest Food Bank.  You are exemplary citizens and you should be very proud of all you have done.  Your continued efforts to enhance the lives of others are much appreciated.

Helping those in need is truly a worthy endeavor that deserves the utmost respect.  In the years to come, I know you all will continue to have a significant impact on our community.

Keep up the good work and know that we appreciate all that you do.  Please let me know if there is ever anything I can do for you.

Sincerely,

Mike Fasano
State Senator, District 11
